I love painting. I always have. As a kid, every Christmas I would get some kind of new art kit and it brought me so much joy. Everyone should have a passion. Everyone should have something they love to do. I firmly believe God has given everyone a passion, that they just need to find it and follow their heart. I like to think my kids are following their passions although their paths have not always been easy and had detours, changes and turns in the journey. The same is true with me. The pandemic hit and I have sold quite a bit less artwork. It winds up when you are not actively talking to people your sales go down and you need to figure out new ways to do business. Hence, the website and the blog. Definitely a detour for me. I have spent a great deal of time figuring out time lapse photography and adding different social media sites. I now have Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. The technology side of things is definitely not where my passion lies but we do what we need to do to be able to pursue our passion.
One of the changes and turns that happened to one of my children is he had dreamed of attending a certain military school down in Maryland for years and with a twist of fate wound up at another military school in Colorado Springs. It has been an amazing journey for him starting way back in eighth grade when he first learned the academies existed. We are truly blessed that he received an appointment to USAFA and he has been loving the academy experience, albeit slightly crazy with the pandemic. I remind them all that the world is crazy everywhere. This time lapse video is a sunset from the very first night he spent in Colorado before I-day. The original picture was taken at the viewing area from the highway overlooking the Academy airfield with the mountains in the background. Seeing that, how could you not know that God knows where your journey will lead you. The academy parent saying goes, trust the process. I say, trust God's process and you will wind up right where you are supposed to be.
